1. Experiment Design, Frameworks & Methodology

  • Design and run rigorous A/B and multi-arm experiments aligned to Labhya's strategic questions and learning agenda.
  • Translate hypotheses and behavioural assumptions into clear, ethical experimental designs with defined quality criteria, timelines, and feasibility considerations.
  • Source and prioritise ideas, determining which hypotheses require rapid tests versus deeper strategic experiments across program components

2. Implementation, Monitoring & Field Coordination

  • Create clear SOPs, checklists, and implementation guides for field teams and school partners.
  • Coordinate sample assignment, delivery protocols, and data capture across schools and field teams.
  • Monitor fidelity of treatment delivery, resolve operational issues, and maintain consistency across geographies.
  • Ensure behavioural, action-level, and outcome-level indicators are measurable, observable, and collected reliably.
  • Maintain documentation of all experiments, including decision logs, implementation notes, and deviations.

3. Analysis, Insights & Knowledge Dissemination

  • Maintain an insights repository with experiment summaries, learnings, and status tracking.
  • Partner with data teams to define analysis plans and indicators, and interpret results to generate actionable behavioural and implementation insights.
  • Synthesize findings into clear narratives, recommendations, and learning briefs for leadership and program teams
  • Maintain a central insights repository to inform program design and scale.

Educational Qualification

Bachelors/Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Experience

  • 4-7 years of experience in experimentation, behavioural science, program evaluation, RCTs, A/B testing, or applied research.
  • Experience in designing and running field experiments or digital experiments end-to-end.
  • Experience in coordinating with field teams, schools, or decentralized teams is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of sampling, randomisation, behavioural measurement, and causal inference basics.

  • Curriculum Strategy & Lifecycle Ownership: Own the end-to-end wellbeing curriculum lifecycle across states, from design and piloting to iteration and scale, ensuring clear and measurable wellbeing outcomes such as reduced anxiety, increased emotional safety, grit, agency, and emotional regulation. Ensure all content is developmentally appropriate and grounded in evidence-based SEL and wellbeing frameworks.

Programs, Field Associate

Tripura, Fluency in Hindi, English and Bengali

Supports the on-ground implementation and monitoring of Labhya's Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program in partnership with the state government. Ensures high-quality delivery through effective coordination, capacity building, data management, and stakeholder engagement.

Role Expectations

All the tasks mentioned below would be key to your role. The following requirements are not mentioned in order of priority.

  • Manage a dedicated team of Field Supervisors in the state with respect to reporting, coordination, training, data completion, and any need-based support.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation and ensure adherence to guidelines and timelines.

  • Regularly review field team performance, provide feedback, and build their capacity through ongoing coaching and mentoring.

  • Troubleshoot challenges in real-time, escalate issues when necessary, and ensure timely resolution.

  • Oversee program implementation across assigned districts, ensuring that program milestones, quality benchmarks, and timelines are consistently met.

  • Work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure effective implementation of program activities and high-quality data collection from the field.

  • Contribute to the creation of performance dashboards and reports for internal reviews and decision-making.

  • Develop teaching and learning materials focused on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for different grades or contexts.

  • Design and facilitate online and in-person training and capacity-building sessions for enumerators, teachers, and other stakeholders.

  • Conduct refresher training and follow-up learning circles to reinforce capacity building and improve delivery quality.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Social Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of proven experience in teacher training, facilitation, or program implementation.

  • Prior experience in on-ground or field-based roles is preferred.

  • Exposure to training facilitation, monitoring, or stakeholder coordination will be an advantage.

  • Understanding of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), mental health, or child psychology is preferred.

Characteristics

  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Bengali (non-negotiable).

  • Knowledge of other regional dialects in Tripura will be preferred.

  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and coordination skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

  • Proficient in Google Tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and comfortable with digital reporting systems.

  • Highly motivated, empathetic, and driven by children's wellbeing.

  • A self-starter who acts with urgency, takes initiative, and learns quickly.

  • Comfortable with regular travel across districts for field visits, training, and coordination.
